I spent much of my life until age 28, hoping that my life began. I thought that at some point, I would become a cocoon into a butterfly that my real life would begin. If I had to relive that stage of my life, I would rather live the period between 18 and 28 years, knowing it would be this, that nothing would happen suddenly, time passes, you are what you are, and you do what you do.

What was so stunning about Syd’s songs was, through the whimsy and the crazy juxtaposition of ideas and words, there was a very powerful grasp of humanity. He was a visionary, he was an extraordinary musician.
